The Philippine government under Ferdinand Marcos encouraged Ilonggo settlers who had emigrated to Mindanao to form a militia, which was eventually called the Ilaga. شجعت الحكومة الفلبينية بقيادة فرديناند ماركوس المستوطنين الايلونجو الذين هاجروا إلى مينداناو لتشكيل ميليشيات سميت لاحقًا إيلاغا.
